And I tried to clean out the drain in the main girls' washhouse which is constantly filled with sandy red mud and hair. So I bought industrial grade "draino". When I poured it in there, it started smoking and firing globs of mud and hair the whole way up to the ceiling. I promptly covered the drain with a bucket and walked away pretending I hadn't just created a minor environmental disaster. But in the end it worked out and the drain was mostly clear for the rest of the summer. You could try that! Thanks for the shoutout BTW and I'm so glad you connected with Maria! I do think that I *might* have loosened the clog with repeated plunging, but I don't trust it to stay good. I need to somehow clear out the pipes completely, and I'm really not sure how to do that.
