i like to knit (and other things, too)

Who’s the girl inside of the blue screen light?

Today was a good day. I’m watching the Republican National Convention on PBS, which is one of the three channels I’ve been able to get on my antenna TV (in addition to Fox and ABC). I suppose I’ve become one of the people who need a “DIGITAL BOX BEFORE FEBRUARY 2009!!!” I’m pretty content though. It’s free to watch this TV, and I have even found a wireless network that so far is free to me as well. Not bad at all.

Tonight was the end of the option period for me to back out of buying the house I want without loosing my earnest money, and I’m still totally excited (although admittedly freaked out about the fact that I’m actually buying a house). I think it’s time to share some pictures. :) I forgot to take shots of the formal dining room (which I’ll probably use as a TV room anyway), and the back patio on the ground floor, or even the front of the house (silly), but I’m sure I can post some of those later. Closing is on October 15th, so there’s still some time before I’ll be actually moving, and even after the 15th, I might take some time getting from my apartment to there since my lease is here through December.

Anyway… pictures are here. Please look!

I miss Niko a lot. I think I’m going to go look for a new cat this weekend. None that will be as sweet or cool or cute as my Niko, but perhaps at least they could be a friend to Clementine.

I have a lot of babies to knit for. There my cousin’s baby girl that I’ve already knit 75% of a sweater for… and the baby born to a good friend from college this past week (born in a car, no less!), and the baby coming soon to a dear former co-worker. And this is just a few… I should really give up on knitting things for myself (it’s too hot here anyway), and instead just always knit for babies (it goes SO fast and they are always so cute). I’m sure I can find yarn already in my home to make most of these babies sweaters….

Last but not least…. I’m totally fascinated by of all this Sarah Palin stuff.

Later on you’re breaking the boxes down
There’s nobody out tonight, Nobody’s hanging ’round

So you take the drive that used to be almost right
And now it’s just empty lots around you - all these empty lots around you

And they don’t know what you won’t dear
And they can’t see that it’s not California here

But you’re the one I want to be with today
I’m the one who wants to be with you tonight
And I’m the one who wants to be the one you’re with tonight

Lara….I love it! There are lots of windows which is nice and I love the porch. The little pantry and laundry room is cute. Good work. Enjoy.

Really cool house, love the bathtub and the bench below the stairs.
Hope you don’t get rid of the appliances just ’cause they’re old, as is
the custom of many homebuyers these days. Congratulations.

Hope you don’t mind a stranger’s visiting, I just wondered who had
    the cool domain name.

Love, love, LOVE this house. The yellow walls are beautiful (I recently had my kitchen painted a tuscan yellow….& love the happiness it brings simply by being yellow!) What a wonderfully quaint little reading bench by the stairwell….the bathroom rocks…the bookshelves for storing book upon endless book is QUITE the fabulous feature…..the porch with the hammock is perfect for a nice spring/ summer day when there’s nothing to do but simply soak in some sun & relax with a book (pulled from that rockin’ bookshelf)….and lastly, but certainly not leastly, the iron fence surrounding the property makes the place look simply super prestigious. Congrats, congrats, CONGRATS on this HAPPY, HAPPY HOME!!!
